UPDATE (September 10, 2012)

Ok, I know I said when I first posted my Dan WIP that I don't see myself doing this full time. That statement is still true, however, I don't want to miss the opportunity to port some of the Street Fighter 4 or SFxT characters that otherwise would not get any love or will take a long time to get ported since other folks have characters from other games on their plate. So I'd like to take advantage in porting 11 models intermittently (at least for now) and putting dibs on them.

* Blanka's default costume
* E. Honda's default costume
* Liligan (Lili's cosplay of Morrigan)
* Ibukayane (Ibuki's cosplay of Ayane)
* Shermie Viper (Viper's cosplay of Shermie from KOF)
* Guy and Cody's default costume
* Ibuki's school girl costume DONE!
* Rose's Victorian costume
* Oni's default costume
* Tekken 6 : Lili's default (if I can get her with original bones)

No way these are set in stone, and are completely dependent on free time. If I get bored with SF4 characters or don't find time for them I'll be happy to pass them along to someone else.

******************************************************************************

Ok, this is my first venture into the porting world. Since I'm new to all this I'll just have one for now (LOL).

Ya, this is gonna take a while. :|

Cool, we should challenge each other to see who can finish their first noob wip ha ha ha. You're already way ahead of me lol. At least you got a model in Blender :D.

^ Thanks. I'm learning but I don't think this will become my bread and butter in the XNA world. For now it's one of those things that you try at least once so you can proudly say you've ported at least one model in your life, LOL!

Actually, no help as of now, this whole thing is basically a crapshoot for me, but all I know is:

1) I have to apply the materials manually, which I'm already having difficulty with. (Have all the diffuse and nml DDS files extracted so far, attempted to unwrap UV on one diffuse file and it looked weird)
2) I have to somehow extract the AO baked in to the OBJ.EMO file to get light maps, or maybe bake them in somehow.
3) Dunno what bone reparenting means yet (researching that now) but I probably have to reparent bones.
4) I have to X-flip the model in the end.
5) I have to name the meshes according to XNA render groups.
6) I have to rename the bones.

I'm sure I've missed many things here, and since you said "basics of SF porting" I'm sure I've missed more. I feel like I'm gonna lose the bet already, LOL! I'm sure semory's ok with us having coaches, but we do have to do the work, as in no passing of models to coaches, LOL! Otherwise it defeats the purpose. :)

We should create a competition thread lol. I don't mind if anybody helps... eva's been giving me lots of info already so no problem with it lol.

Haha a competition thread would be nice! Ya, I think I'm gonna lose now... who won't feel motivated to finish his first port if you have Eva Longoria as your XNA coach!?!? :lol: :lol: :lol:
