They did have a couple of gaming events that showed retro computers and consoles and was something like GDC, except... smaller.

I wish I could have been there, but I couldn't attend any of those. ;__________;

Isn't the whole point of a GDC just for the game developers, special VP invites and the journalists, all with the money by themselves or their corporate companies to pay for it. Many of us public folk aren't so blessed with the opportunity, and eevn then, that is what something like PAX, e£, TGS are for with the public days.

computer science students can buy passes but even then i never wanted to go to pay per panel, tutorial, demo, etc. it is not cheap even at discounted pricing .
