external drive or 2nd hard drive preferably. extracting game data is taxing on your hard drive, so I never do it on same drive as my windows installation. i have a models folder on an external that i use.

ahhh i see. yeah i have an external harddrive but i have a bunch of files and things on there.

im guessing i should move those things over to the computer before i use the tools, then extract it there?

thanks for the info :) really looking forward to using these tools :D

it's a safe program to use on drive c:, just as long as you copy the game files to a fresh empty folder. it doesn't scan outside the folder you specify. it's only dangerous if you put game files on drive c: like so

c:\LINKDATA.bin

that's dangerous.

putting it in

c:\models\LINKDATA.bin

that's safe.

i don't have any of the DLC. start program from command line, and let me know any errors. taking a screen cap of the contents of the DLC folder would also help.

It bothers me yesterday too.
All you need to do is delete all BGMXXX.BIN and STMXXX.BIN.

then run Gas Machine again,it should works fine.

If you run Gas Machine without delete BGM and STM,Gas Machine will simply change some DLCs' extension to .dlc, and that's all, nothing happen anymore.

problem is there is only LNKCA040 to LNKCA044 in my folder, but it still stopped
this kind of things often happened. it was wo3 xbox dlc. it only worked after i changed the folder. unfortunately for this sw4-ii dlc, changing folder didnt help
how to run a programm from command prompt? i put xentax on drive D

it worked
i said yes to process LINKDATA and it worked
i managed to catch a glimpse of the process and found out that xentax already tried to process G1m eventhough the file was still .BIN
