is for the sequels to branch off into two paths.You still have the serious and grounded in reality tone to see how the world will have to live with a creature like Godzilla roaming around and with whatever other possible ancient threat that may arise.
The other is continuing on in a shift like the original movies where it takes a major turn and goes off the rails, with all the classic campy but fun Sci-Fi stuff like aliens or time travel BS.
I mean, the whole rumour of the Godzilla and Pacific Rim crossover practically fits into the campy side of things any way because lets face it, Jaegers in the real world are fucking impossible
. The way I can see how it works if they do go with it is since Pacfic Rim is already set in the future and Godzilla already exists in their world/time period.And really when you think about this, this reboot has a few nods to all that campy too, what with "news broadcast" parts especially in the ending or just the dumbassery of the soldiers shooting.
Either way though, they have GOT TO bring in King Ghidorah!
